Most people I have spoken to this year have made mention that time seems to be passing us by with great speed. We are getting busier and busier in our lives. It can be overwhelming, confusing and nerve racking trying to keep up with the rat race. When we are faced with decisions to make we can become more reactive than responsive in our lives causing even more overwhelm and upset for everyone.
But what if we slow things down in those moments? I know this may sound counter intuitive to what we believe we need to do. But slowing things down doesn’t mean you don’t do anything, it just means give yourself the space and time to respond to what is happening in your life and gain perspective. Rather than having emotional drama or making decisions from an upset place. This can make all the difference.
I know we all have obligations and responsibilities and sometimes the idea of slowing things down when we have 100 different things coming our way can seem crazy to do. But I invite you to give it a try. So how do you begin to cultivate this habit? By slowing things down in your daily activities.
For example while you are driving, how about taking in the scenery , slow your breathing down, don’t talk on the phone…. remember how you got from Point A to Point B for a change 🙂 This is the way we can cultivate this habit of slowing things down in the midst of all the busyness.
This learning has helped myself and many others gain more energy and peace of mind. I invite you to give it a try and see how things change in your daily life.
