Most people are busy making resolution lists for the new year. I have always thought it was silly to make New Years resolutions because you can always start doing something new on any day of the year. And most of the time it seems to be the same list year after year.
This year how about considering a mission list or an intention list instead. Intention empowers us to dig deep to achieve something.
Here are some examples of my intention list so far for 2016:
- Be thankful for everyday for everything
- Let love and compassion guide the way
- Focus consciously rather than being on automatic pilot
- Commit to nurturing the four main areas of life daily
- Look for the good in others.
- Speak your truth from the heart.
Do you have a list of “resolutions” that are never kept?
You can use the power of intention to set your life on the path you want it to take. Intention, as defined by The Free Dictionary, is “a deliberate and concentrated mental effort.” Most people think that making a list with good intentions means they should write down things that would make them happy but it’s real things that would make others happy. It’s not selfish to take care of yourself.
Sometimes when we put things into space with writing or words , the energy of it comes back to us. That means that if you say negative things, then negativity is what will come into your life. However, if you use this intention list for one year or just even three months straight, you can see how much better you feel about yourself and others will start seeing this too.
What areas of your life do you feel need the most improvement and change?
If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
Write it down and then write the opposite of that.
If you are unhappy or sad, then write down, ” I am happy and content with my life”. If you are having a difficult time in one area of your life, try to think about another area where you have more control over what happens there.
We as humans think being in a neutral position in life is ideal. Newsflash it’s not. The idea of a neutral position is a false sense of comfort that often keeps us from experiencing life to its fullest. Try to make every day better than the last and with the new year upcoming the timing for adjustments could never be better.
These are just a few from my list to help me feel inspired and motivated to creating the best year possible.
