Over the last several years I have had the privilege of interviewing a few elder family members for a family history project that I started a few years ago to share with future generations. I think understanding how people think, believe and live is fascinating and we can learn a lot about the capability of mankind. No matter what age there lies great wisdom and learnings.
There have been many gems of wisdom that I have learned and applied successfully. The three main themes that have shown up while speaking to various family members over the years are as follows:
- You actions reflect your priorities in life.
- Don’t be afraid of making a choice, it’s not about it being good or bad, just make one and follow through.
- Never allow what others may think about you dictate what you choose to do in order to be happy.
Great wisdom to learn from and quite inspiring as we all write our life-story everyday.
Are we living what brings us joy or is someone else holding the pen?
