Learning how to trust your intuition in business is essential.
Sometimes, despite our best efforts, things don’t go as planned. Trusting your intuition can help you go with the flow and trust that everything is going to be okay instead of trying to push or force things to happen in a certain way.
What is intuition?
Since the beginning of time, philosophers and scholars have tried to quantify and measure intuition. This gets even more complicated when you bring religious or cultural beliefs into the picture. Is it the Universe speaking to us? Is it a divine intervention?
When you ask the universe for something, the universe provides. The universe is within us and we are within the universe. It’s all integrated together. No matter what your religious beliefs are, your philosophies, or your belief system, there comes a certain point where you realize it’s all connected together.
Intuition is when you learn to listen to and trust that feeling you get. When you trust your intuition in business and your personal life, you will become more aware of how you feel and signs like “random” phone calls as well as other synchronicities in your life. The more you learn to follow your inner guide, the easier your business will be.
How Do You Know When You’re in Alignment?
An easy way to tell if you’re in alignment or out of alignment is to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings. Our thoughts and emotions carry a certain frequency or energy that we radiate out into the world and the universe. Matching frequencies that we beam out into the world come back to us. What we put out there will come back to us. Whenever we are spending time in contemplation, imagination, or meditation, we connect with that inner higher self.
It’s in those quieter moments that we connect with our higher self.
We create with our thoughts and our words. It’s important to align our thoughts and emotions to that of what we want to create in our own reality. Whether that’s writing in your journal, saying affirmations, talking to your friends and loved ones about what you really want, it’s important to get it out there and to be mindful of what we are saying and thinking.
If you are not sure if you are in alignment or not, take an honest assessment of how you are living your life.
Take some time to contemplate or write in your journal and ask yourself:
How do you feel?
Are you creating things you want in your life?
Are you seeing things in your surroundings that reflect how you feel inside?
Do you feel good about your business?
Do you feel good about your relationships?
If the answers to these questions aren’t what you want, that’s ok. No judgement. It just means you are not in alignment with what you really want.
Diving Deeper into your Intuition
If you find that you’re out of alignment more often than you’re in alignment with what you really want, it might mean that you’re not diving deep enough. This is where a business coach or life coach can have a big impact. It helps to have someone that can go in and help you start digging deeper because we are only going to dig as deep as we can or as we can see.
Whenever you have somebody else outside of you who is skilled at reflecting back to you, it helps you discover and become more aware of what is going on under the surface. When you see things from someone else’s perspective, it’s going to speed up the process and help you do it on your own going forward.
As you become more aware and attuned to your intuition, it becomes easier to trust the decisions you make. Trust that your intuition will help you see the signs that let you know you’re headed down the right path as well as the warning signs that you’re on the wrong track. Sometimes it’s an unexpected encounter or conversation, sometimes it can be a commercial on the radio that points you in the right direction, a billboard on the highway, or even a “random” thought occurs to you that gets you moving in the right direction.
When you’re grappling with something difficult, look to your intuition for help in figuring out what to do next. Miraculously, something will occur that would ultimately not be the answer but a hint that lets me know what the answer could be. You can find validation and guidance in your decisions by looking for those signs.
When you start recognizing how powerful those signs are, both personally and professionally, things really start falling into place. You will be more in alignment, happier, and more committed on a lot of levels and even more confident in the decisions you are making.
Asking Your Intuition for Guidance
Asking your intuition for guidance along the way makes decision making a lot easier.
Things flow easier. When you’re in a state of gratitude, when it comes to receiving guidance or intuition, that brings more of it. Then you will find that having trust in your intuition comes easier and easier as time goes on.
Shifting Your Perspective
Most people come to a point where they’re really frustrated, because things are not going okay. Everything just seems like a struggle and they’re tired of it. Then they find they are doing things to push those feelings away like numbing themselves with drinking heavily or staying busy to distract themselves from the feeling that they know something just isn’t right at the core.
At that point, a lot of people will start to explore by reading books or listening to podcasts for a shift in perspective. There are a lot of people in business that are afraid to go there because they’re afraid that it sounds too out there and that there’s no place in business for this kind of mindset shift or perspective shift. In fact, that’s the best place for it. Because if you can show up as more authentically aligned and more complete, you bring more to the table in your business and in every aspect of your life.
Remember to check in with yourself.
How are you feeling about things? Do you feel like you’re always struggling? Do you feel like you have to really work hard to get anything done?
Start reading books, start asking around, go on Amazon, talk to your friends, talk to people reach out to people that you see that are maybe living away that appeals to you that that inspires you reach out to them see if there are books that you can read or audiobooks that you can listen to get a shift of perspective.
The other thing you should look for is to reach out for a coach. Whether it’s a business coach or a spiritually oriented life coach, get somebody to help you with this who has experience navigating this shift in perspective.
Most of the CEOs and business people that come to me are people that don’t have anybody in their world that’s, that’s speaking this kind of language and they’re intimidated by it because they don’t want to seem like an outcast. They don’t want to seem like the guy that is going to show up barefoot in the office or whatever. And that’s not the way it is.
Tapping Into Intuition to Live Up to Your Potential
We know deep down whether we are living up to our potential or whether we’re struggling in our life. Are you living up to your potential? Are you living and working the life that you want to really have? Or are you just going through the motions and being stuck in the rut that you potentially find yourself in?
A lot of successful entrepreneurs look back on their early days and realize that they didn’t have to struggle as much. The earlier you can ask those deep questions and be more open to trusting your intuition and recognizing the signs, you’ll be more in alignment and will avoid some of the more destructive behaviors and decisions. The more authentically aligned you can be, the better off you’re going to be, the happier you’re going to be and you’ll find success comes to you a lot easier.
Be willing to sit down and have an authentic conversation with you about what it takes to be authentic and connected to your spirit and trust in the universe and trust in the higher power that’s out there. Because it’s always at work. And it is definitely waiting for you to tune in. Think of your intuition as backup. There is a backup ready to help and we just have to know how to tune into that.
We all realize that there’s more to life than meets the eye and we all come to that realization at different times and phases in our life. It may happen for somebody at the age of 69, and somebody else at 18. But it’s right on time for that person for that particular individual.
Either you’re already finding that your time is now or maybe you have been struggling or challenged in some respect with something right in your life. For you, this may be exactly the message you needed to hear right now to start making some of those pivotal decisions and changes in your life to help you be more aligned and trust your intuition and the universe in the direction that it’s trying to steer you.
Your intuition is trying to steer you towards positive good things. Sometimes we’re just a little stubborn, and unable to pay attention to recognize it. I would encourage you to reach out for help to guide you or direct you into resources that can make your journey smoother.
Best,
