How to set intentions with your morning routine
But with a good strategy like this, there’s no need to worry about time slipping away–just watch the sunrise and make yourself happy while doing so. It’s also a time when you can set your intentions for the day ahead of you.
You don’t have to be an early bird, or even get out of bed before 8am in order to start your day off right. All it takes is some intentionality about what you want from this next 24 hours.
What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish today? How will this help move you forward towards those goals?
Setting these intentions at the beginning of each day allows us to focus on what we really care about and helps us stay focused throughout our days so that we can achieve more than if we just let life happen without any direction or purpose behind it all.
Here are 3 things you can start doing today to start your day off right:
1. Say Thank You
The importance of gratitude cannot be overstated, and it can all begin with you opening your eyes. Start a gratitude journal. Write down 5 things you are grateful for.
It could be the fact that you have a job, or it might just as easily include your favorite coffee mug sitting on top of this desk right now. No matter how small or large, gratitude is an important part to living life with intention and purpose.
When we are grateful our focus shifts from what’s missing in order towards all those things which make us feel fulfilled.
2. Self Care for Your Body and Mind
It’s important to take care of your body and mind. Incorporating stretching or yoga exercises into our day can help us feel more flexible, less stressed out – it will also leave you feeling refreshed!
Starting your day off with some stretching or yoga can be a great way to start your day.
It’s important that we take care of our mental health too! It is so easy for us, in this fast-paced world, where everything seems urgent and critical, to get caught up on the things which are not really all THAT pressing (like what you’re going wear tomorrow). Instead of focusing more deeply about how much time do I have left with my loved ones? What am I doing today/this week etc.? We need to balance between taking good enough physical action as well being mindful when reflecting back over life.
3. Clear Your Mind
Meditation is a great way to start your day because it helps you focus on the present moment. It helps you not get caught up in what has happened or will happen tomorrow. It’s also an excellent time for self-reflection – taking some quiet moments each morning can help us reflect more deeply about our lives overall. And it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Here are a few ways to incorporate this important technique. Just sit or lay down comfortably with your eyes closed (or open if that feels better) focusing only one thing at once like breathing through your nose out your mouth; counting breaths from 0 until 10 then starting over again ; repeating words silently inside head such things like “I am healthy” or an affirmation that resonates with you; thinking thoughts without attaching too much meaning behind those thoughts for at least 5 minutes.
Learning to still the mind and focus on how life can be is a job for any person, but what’s important about taking up stilling the mind is that it doesn’t require money or equipment. Even simply meditating in your room can allow you to inherently get rid of anxiety-prone thoughts and feelings that have no basis.
You have the power to start everyday as a new day.
Finding peace in your life by taking time out each morning for yourself before the day actually begins. It will help you be the best version of yourself for yourself first and for each and every interaction you have throughout your day. Making healthier choices is the first step.
