You might be going through a tough time right now.
You may not feel like you have any joy left in your life, but it’s still possible to find happiness.
The first thing that you can do is make list of things that make you happy right now. Look through that list and stick with those activities or things as much as possible during this difficult time.
We’ve all been through difficult times, and we’re currently in a period where the world isn’t treating us well.
But, no matter what is going on around you or on the outside, there are still ways to find joy.
When you become acutely aware of your internal state, this can help you determine which changes will occur for you personally, rather than anything else changing as a result of external events.
You may not be able to change the external circumstances, but you do have control over how and what kind of response you give.
Do you know how sometimes things just don’t work out? And it’s frustrating when nothing seems to be working for you; however, this does not imply that something is wrong; perhaps you need a different approach or perspective.
Finding happiness can be difficult, but it is not impossible.
There are many ways to find this sense of elation and happiness in your life. One important way is by surrounding yourself with friends or family members if possible. It may be difficult right now for in-person get togethers, but even scheduling zoom calls between each other may help!
When we have more people who love us unconditionally, it becomes easier for them to take the weight off our shoulders while also providing their own support during difficult times.
This will also aid in the reduction of your anxiety and stress.
When we are going through a difficult time, it is often difficult to find joy because we are so focused on what isn’t working, what isn’t going well, and what isn’t right. And the more we focus our minds and attention on that, the larger and larger the problems will appear to us.
Get busy doing something that you enjoy.
Make a point of doing something you enjoy in your life.
Taking pleasure in the small things can include things like:
- getting in the kitchen and cooking your favorite meal
- dancing to your favorite music
- doing something creative
Taking time to practice gratitude and journaling are also two things you can do to help.
Practicing mindfulness helps you to stay present in the moment.
Most of the time, the reason why your joy is being robbed from you (or why you are blocking it completely) is because your thoughts and mental processes are stuck in the past or in the future.
Or you may be worried about something that hasn’t even happened yet or that might happen. You may be replaying in your mind something that has taken away your joy in the past and you are afraid it will happen again.
Be encouraged that whatever you are experiencing is only temporary and that you are supported.
You can find resources and people who can assist you in finding joy in the midst of adversity. You know how valuable your time is. You want to spend it doing things you enjoy and making the world a better place in your small world or doing things that will have a big impact on the larger world and everyone.
